Invest in Your Planet's Future

Today's green movement has brought forth a new consciousness for how fibers are grown and manufactured. Organic cotton and natural fibers are replacing traditional fabrics and synthetic fibers.  Just as concern over the harmful effects of insecticides and pesticides in our food supply has given rise to the demand for organic produce and vegetables, concern over the high use of insecticides and pesticides in growing cotton and other natural fibers has given rise to demand for organic cottons and garments free of these and other poisons and carcinogens.

Project571, is an online all organic collegiate apparel company. We offer two types of Organic Apparel, Collegiate and Alternative. All of the products we sell are made from organic cotton, bamboo, or recycled polyester. We start with a super soft comfortable apparel and end up with a vintage look and stylish fit.

What sets us apart from other collegiate apparel? Organic, Feel, Comfort and Style.

Organic - Our apparel is made from organic cotton, recycled polyester, naturally occurring rayon or a combination of all. Most of our products are 100% organic cotton.

Feel - Organic cotton is soft and smooth to the touch rendering a softer more comfortable product compared to conventional cotton.

Comfort - Comfort is everything. All of our organic clothing is super soft and super comfortable.

Style - We design our clothing with fashion in mind, not price. Compared to other collegiate apparel, our clothing is more flattering and stylish.

Project571 is the first and only company to bring organics into the Collegiate Apparel market. We design organic t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, and sweat pants for a number of major universities. Educating young people on the effects of global warming is priority number one. Project571 allows students, fans and alumni to express their support for the environment as well as their favorite universities by wearing organic collegiate apparel. Project571 is proud to give students and alumni that option.

Our Organic Alternative line is equally unique. We design our alternative line with nature and fashion in mind. This unique hybrid of style and sustainability is what makes our alternative line so unique. All of the alternative clothing is made from high end organic material with a super soft feel and a trendy fit.

Are you aware that:

Conventionally grown cotton accounts for more than 25% of worldwide insecticide use and 10% of the pesticides.  Pesticides used on cotton are among the most hazardous.

Conventionally grown cotton is the 2nd most pesticide-laden crop in the world (after corn)

Children are at greater risk for pesticide-related health problems than adults.  Millions of children in the US receive up to 35% of their estimated lifetime dose of some carcinogenic pesticides by age five through food, contaminated drinking water, household use, and pesticide drift.

It takes one pound of chemical fertilizers and pesticides to conventionally grow the three pounds of cotton needed to make a T-shirt and a pair of jeans.

The cotton t-shirt alone requires 1/3 pound of fertilizers. These chemicals often end up in water supplies and the food chain since many products have cotton seed oil in them and livestock are often fed with feed produced with parts of the cotton plant.
